A very popular revolver for its time, the model 1851 Navy revolver was adopted by both the U.S. and British military. This revolver received its name from the depiction on the cylinder of the Texas Navy's victory over the Mexican fleet in 1843. Pietta's reproduction is available in .44 caliber and 4'' barrel length.
This gun pays homage to the custom Colt revolving belt pistol owned by Capt. F. B. Schaeffer, a veteran of the Mexican-American War.
